On 22.5.2024, the students at the University of Nova Gorica School of Arts discovered the revolutionary impact of 3D printing on the world of art in our comprehensive REGINNA 4.0 workshop. This one-day event was conducted within the Creative Practicum I course for bachelor’s students and examined how 3D printing technology is reshaping the digital arts transformation and also its role in advanced manufacturing.

Participants explored the ways 3D printing facilitates unprecedented creativity and digital innovation to bring intricate designs to life with unparalleled precision and customization. Students also delved into case studies highlighting its role in rapid prototyping, customized production, and complex geometries that are difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing techniques. Through the interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, the students gained a deep understanding of how 3D printing integrates with digital tools to preserve cultural heritage, replicate masterpieces, and create tangible prototypes of virtual designs, bringing digital creations into the physical world and enhancing user interaction.
